Job Description

About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a full-time Restaurant Supervisor. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that staff members collaborate effectively to deliver optimal service and meet guest needs. This position involves overseeing daily operations, maintaining service quality, and ensuring compliance with company standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect staff grooming and attire, addressing any deficiencies to maintain professional appearance standards.
  • Complete opening and closing duties, including setting up supplies, cleaning equipment, and securing designated areas.
  • Monitor dining rooms to ensure seating availability, service quality, safety, and guest well-being.
  • Inspect storage areas for organization, adherence to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles, and cleanliness.
  • Conduct scheduled inventories and requisition necessary supplies to maintain appropriate stock levels.
  • Submit work orders for maintenance repairs as needed.
  • Assist management with various human resources functions, including hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
  • Serve as a role model and initial point of contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process.
  • Ensure adherence to all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management; and complete required safety training and certifications.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and express genuine appreciation to guests.
  • Communicate professionally and clearly with colleagues and guests.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships, support team goals, and respond appropriately to employee concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with quality expectations and standards; identify, recommend, develop, and implement improvements to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and/or cost-savings.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to read and visually verify information in various formats.
  • Visual inspection of tools, equipment, or machines to identify defects.
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or an entire work shift.
  • Capability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Proficiency in grasping, turning, and manipulating objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces, and navigate stairs and/or service ramps.
  • Capacity to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: High school diploma or * equivalent is required.
  • Related Work Experience: A minimum of 2 years of related work experience is necessary.
  • Supervisory Experience: At least 1 year of supervisory experience is preferred.
