Senior Buyer I II

About the Role

International Maritime Industries is seeking a Senior Buyer I,II to manage the procurement of a wide variety of commodities, materials, supplies, equipment, and services. This full-time role involves handling highly technical procurement requirements and applying complex procurement standards across IMI functions. The Senior Buyer will be responsible for identifying sources, evaluating bids, awarding contracts, and ensuring efficient ordering and delivery processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Procure complex commodities for various internal customers.
• Review and recommend revisions to purchasing practices to align with industry best practices, established laws, Supply Chain Manuals, and approved processes.
• Conduct monthly file reviews and identify items for inclusion under purchase agreements.
• Develop, maintain, plan, lead, and monitor purchase agreements.
• Lead or participate in development initiatives and cross-functional teams.
• Manage the buying process for specific goods to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
• Provide technical and commercial assistance to Tactical Buyers to enhance procurement process awareness and product knowledge.
• Develop and execute long-term strategy deployment, including supplier cost modeling, opportunity assessments, financial analysis, negotiations, and continuous supplier performance improvement.
• Coordinate purchasing activities with internal partners to acquire products and services cost-effectively and timely.
• Maintain all procurement KPIs for assigned commodities and agreements, including implementing corrective actions.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders and complex agreements of moderate to high complexity, value, and risk, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
• Lead supplier issue resolutions, working with business users and Supplier Quality to address quality issues, identify new product sources, and improve supplier performance.
• Support internal, customer, and external compliance audits.
• Ensure material status communications are generated and distributed to appropriate personnel.
• Lead, direct, mentor, and train other supply chain professionals.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant field. The position requires a professional who can apply procurement principles and supply chain best practices effectively.

• Knowledge of the oil & gas and shipbuilding sectors.
• Proficiency in SAP (or equivalent ERP systems) and Microsoft Office applications.
