Senior Design Lead Manufacturing Process

About the Role

HCLTech is seeking a Senior Design Lead - Manufacturing Process to join their team in King Abdullah Economic City. This full-time role focuses on overseeing, coordinating, and ensuring compliance across various construction and operational activities for dedicated buildings within a Logistic Park site. The position requires over 10 years of experience in relevant fields.

Key Responsibilities for Construction Supervision

The Senior Design Lead will oversee all construction phases, from earthworks to civil, structural erection, and building sheeting, including managing MEP service interfaces. The primary objective is to ensure client oversight aligns with PMC/PAC and the main contractor.

• Coordinate HSE, daily progress in 2-week, 4-week, and 12-week lookahead works, logistics, and general coordination.
• Represent the client on all construction activities.
• Monitor PMC and Main Contractor performance.
• Ensure works are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved design.
• Coordinate construction interfaces between multiple contractors and stakeholders.
• Identify risks early and facilitate timely resolution.
• Verify construction progress against the project schedule.
• Ensure quality assurance and inspection requirements are achieved.
• Support successful handover of completed works.

IT and MEP Infrastructure Management

The role involves managing the integration of physical and digital systems, ensuring robust utility infrastructure, and maintaining smart factory standards.

• Integrated Connectivity: Managing the "Physical-to-Digital" handshake, ensuring MEP systems are synced with IT/Telecom backbone and Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Utility Infrastructure Governance: Leading technical tie-ins for external utilities (High-Voltage Power, Industrial Water, and Fiber) from the site boundary into building infrastructure.
• Operational Resilience: Governing the Testing & Commissioning (T&C) phase to ensure power and cooling systems support sensitive automotive robotics and IT servers without failure.
• Smart Factory Standards: Ensuring all systems comply with the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and "Smart Factory" requirements for energy efficiency (LEED/Mostadam) and high-speed data connectivity.
• Clash & Interface Management: Resolving technical conflicts between complex MEP routing, structural steel, and automotive process equipment.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should possess extensive experience in design leadership within manufacturing processes, with a strong background in construction supervision and infrastructure management.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex construction projects and operational activities.
• Strong understanding of IT/Telecom backbone, BMS, and MEP systems.
• Experience with Saudi Building Code (SBC) and energy efficiency standards (LEED/Mostadam).
• Proven track record in risk identification, resolution, and quality assurance.
