The Role of Senior High Voltage Engineer

Surbana Jurong is inviting Expressions of Interest for a Senior High Voltage Engineer position. This full-time role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and involves providing technical leadership for the design and delivery of high-voltage power systems. This includes work on transmission, distribution, renewable energy, and major infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of HV and EHV substations, including AIS and GIS systems.
• Prepare and review substation layouts, single-line diagrams, protection schemes, and technical specifications.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, utilities, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Undertake protection studies, equipment selection, and design reviews.
• Support procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and technical assurance activities.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers and designers.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 8-12 years of experience in high-voltage power engineering.
• Strong experience in AIS/GIS substations and protection design.
• Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, utility standards, and grid code requirements.
• Experience with transmission, distribution, renewable energy, or major infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Previous Middle East or Saudi Arabia project experience is highly desirable.
