Senior Project Controls Engineer

About the Role

Hill International is seeking a Senior Project Controls Engineer to join its team. This full-time position is vital for integrating and presenting critical project information, playing a key part in coordinating and analyzing data from various project functions. The assignment is expected to run until the end of 2026, with the possibility of extension.

Role Purpose and Contribution

The Senior Project Controls Engineer ensures accurate and timely reporting by combining and analyzing cost, schedule, and other project inputs. This role provides a consistent portfolio view, maintains performance measures, and supports senior stakeholders in resolving reporting issues, contributing significantly to project oversight and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of integrated weekly, monthly, and closeout reports, including dashboards and presentations.
• Combine and analyze cost, schedule, and other inputs to maintain a consistent portfolio view.
• Maintain project forecasts, performance measures, and reporting calendars.
• Identify and explain variances and dependencies that impact closeout targets.
• Coordinate submissions and ensure data completeness across various contracts.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and Excel analysis tools.
• Support budget, commitment, and funding analysis in collaboration with the Lead Cost Engineer.
• Assist in schedule forecasts and tracking alongside the Lead Planner.
• Prepare cost and schedule substantiation packs for claims and final accounts.
• Work independently with senior stakeholders to address and resolve reporting challenges.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in project controls.
• Experience on mega-projects is preferred.
• Prior experience in Saudi Arabia and/or GCC projects is considered an advantage.
• Experience with closeout, termination, or final account processes is preferred.
• PMP or a similar professional certification is desirable.

Required Skills and Tools

The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in project controls, particularly in integrated cost and schedule reporting. A strong command of relevant software tools, including proficiency in developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and Excel analysis tools, is essential for this role.
