The Role of Senior BIM Coordinator

The Senior BIM Coordinator is responsible for the management, coordination, and maintenance of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes across multi-disciplinary design and construction teams. This full-time role ensures that project deliverables comply with BIM standards, client requirements, and industry best practices, while fostering collaboration among designers, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders. Candidates should have 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead coordination meetings with project stakeholders to identify, track, and resolve design clashes.
• Manage model federation, clash detection, and reporting using BIM collaboration platforms.
• Ensure BIM models are developed and maintained according to project execution plans and client requirements.
• Oversee model quality control, audits, and compliance with company BIM standards.
• Implement and enforce project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEP).
• Maintain BIM documentation, protocols, and workflows aligned with ISO 19650 and company standards.
• Support digital handover and asset data integration for Facility Management (FM) or GIS systems.
• Work with Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other BIM-authoring software to review and coordinate models.
• Support design teams in model setup, worksharing, and troubleshooting.
• Provide training, mentoring, and guidance to BIM modelers and coordinators.
• Liaise with client representatives, consultants, and contractors to align BIM deliverables with project needs.
• Utilize collaboration tools (*, BIM 360, ACC) to manage design data.
• Ensure correct use of BIM libraries, templates, and object standards.
• Prepare coordination reports, clash detection logs, and issue-tracking dashboards.
• Ensure timely submission of federated models, COBie data, drawings, and 4D/5D outputs (if required).
• Monitor and create dashboard reports for project BIM progress, risks, and compliance for the BIM Manager / Project Manager.
