The Role of Sr. Fastener Engineer

The Sr. Fastener Engineer role is a full-time position within the global Fastener Engineering team at Lucid Motors (KSA). This position functions as the resident subject matter expert at AMP-2 production facilities. The primary responsibility is to serve as the main point of contact for cross-functional teams regarding all fastener engineering topics in KSA, ensuring joining processes align with design intent. The role requires 5-10 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary fastener engineering liaison between AMP-2 plant vehicle engineering and design engineering at L1 headquarters.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Service, Purchasing, and Suppliers, to develop robust joint solutions.
  • Identify, perform root-cause analysis, and devise solutions for fastener issues on the manufacturing floor.
  • Accurately assess assembly fastener joint conditions related to parts, tools, processes, and personnel.
  • Track and monitor the progress of fastener selections, releasing, and validation activities.
  • Serve as the local subject matter expert for fastener selection, joint theory, product knowledge, and assembly processes.
  • Support and define processes and standards cross-functionally among design engineering, manufacturing engineering, SIE, and SQE.
  • Perform bolted joint analysis using Lucid's available tools.

Required Qualifications

  • Technical 4-year degree from an accredited university.
  • Previous experience working with bolted joints and fasteners.
  • Proven 3D CAD skills, proficient with CATIA V5/V6 or similar software.
  • Solid understanding of GD&T standards, material selections, and DFM principles.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the Automotive sector.
  • Proven track record of involvement in engineering projects and design.
  • Hands-on practical experience in prototype assembly and production assembly.

Experience and Work Type

This full-time position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience. The role is based at the AMP-2 production facilities in KSA, functioning as a key part of the global Fastener Engineering team.
