Staff Nurse

About the Role

Dallah Healthcare is seeking a Staff Nurse to deliver high-quality patient care at Dallah Hospital. This full-time role involves ensuring the attainment of agreed clinical standards and supporting professional development. The Staff Nurse will assess patient needs, assist in preparation, and implement nursing care processes to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with patient examinations and routine treatments.
• Obtain specimens for testing, conduct routine laboratory tests, and record results.
• Perform initial patient assessments, develop appropriate care plans, and relay information to physicians.
• Coordinate with various department personnel for supplies and patient medical records.
• Compile patient chart information and respond to routine patient inquiries and telephone calls.
• Perform tests and procedures as directed by a physician, including ear washes, throat cultures, vaccines, and injections.
• Ensure patient chart information is prepared before admission and maintain accurate medical records.
• Maintain patient and clinic confidentiality.
• Ensure clear and accurate communication during handover reports to maintain continuity of care.
• Follow doctors' orders and patient management plans, taking appropriate steps as required.
• Maintain accurate records of patient progress according to hospital policies.
• Ensure the safety of patients, relatives, and staff, and report incidents or staff sickness.
• Maintain current knowledge of medications and their correct administration, reporting adverse reactions.
• Actively participate in infection prevention and control.
• Contribute to the induction of new staff, acting as a mentor when appropriate.
• Participate in Quality Improvement Programs within the area of responsibility.
• Commit to continuous professional development, seeking learning opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
• Ensure all drug and IV fluid records are up-to-date and adhere to regulations governing administration, storage, and custody of drugs.
• Maintain proficiency in using medical devices such as ECG machines, defibrillators, CTG machines, electronic fetal monitors, and other departmental equipment.
• Participate in nursing education programs, in-service training, symposiums, and workshops to maintain skills and knowledge.
• Ensure necessary financial records are maintained for the Finance Department.

Required Competencies

• Ability to obtain and interpret a 12-lead electrocardiogram.
• Competence in administering oxygen, nebulizer, and aerosol treatments according to policy.
• Compliance with nursing practice standards related to immunization.
• Proficiency in testing visual acuity using provided instruments.
• Ability to safely apply, adapt, and remove orthopedic casts.
• Capability to take actions to prevent patient falls.
• Skill in promoting healthy, independent behaviors through patient education.
• Ability to safely administer medications via all routes, relevant to the age group and vulnerability of patients.
• Participation in patient and family education to foster understanding and involvement in care decisions.

Qualifications and Experience

• 0-1 years of experience in a relevant nursing role.
