Steward

About the Role

Apparel Group is seeking a Steward to join their team in Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is essential for maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, adhering to strict health and hygiene regulations, and supporting kitchen operations.

Position Objective

The Kitchen Steward is responsible for ensuring the kitchen and surrounding areas are kept clean and sanitary. This involves following established cleaning schedules and complying with all Health & Hygiene Regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform assigned duties and follow cleaning schedules diligently.
• Collect necessary cleaning materials and equipment from the Supervisor.
• Inspect equipment daily to ensure proper working condition and report any defects or malfunctions promptly to the Supervisor or a senior team member.
• Assist in the setup and breakdown of service areas for all special functions.
• Clean stoves, ovens, grills, and refrigerators using appropriate cleaning solutions, brushes, and wash cloths.
• Wash utensils such as pots, pans, and trays by hand using cleaning detergents.
• Wash dishware, glasses, and cutlery either by hand or machine, occasionally polishing utensils. Drain, dry, and stack items after washing.
• Transport food supplies, including meats, vegetables, fruits, and canned goods, from the storeroom or freezer to the kitchen using a trolley or basket. Return surplus food to storage.
• Provide assistance with food preparation tasks, such as blending soups and washing or peeling vegetables and shellfish.

Health, Safety, and Security

• Maintain required operational hygiene standards according to cleaning rotas at all times.
• Be aware of Restaurant policies and procedures related to health, hygiene, and fire life safety, and ensure compliance from direct reports.
• Familiarize oneself with emergency exits and evacuation procedures.

General Requirements

• Comply with the company's corporate code of conduct.

• Perform tasks as directed by Management to achieve business goals.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 0-1 year of experience in a similar role. The ability to follow instructions and maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene is essential.
