About the Role

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, *** is seeking a Sustainability & Environmental Supervisor to join their team in the Red Sea region. This full-time role is open to Saudi Nationals and requires 5-10 years of experience. The supervisor will support the property in implementing and maintaining sustainability and environmental programs in accordance with company standards, local regulations, owner requirements, and destination environmental commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of the property's sustainability strategy, initiatives, standards, and action plans.
• Monitor environmental practices across operational departments and assist in identifying opportunities to reduce environmental impact and improve resource efficiency.
• Assist in monitoring electricity, fuel, and water consumption, coordinating with Engineering to review trends and identify unusual usage.
• Manage waste and recycling programs, including monitoring segregation practices, ensuring appropriate disposal, and supporting waste diversion initiatives.
• Support environmental compliance by assisting in adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and company requirements, conducting routine inspections, and maintaining environmental records.
• Protect the natural environment by supporting protection measures related to marine, coastal, terrestrial, or sensitive natural environments and reporting activities that may negatively impact ecosystems.
• Collect and report sustainability data, preparing monthly and periodic performance reports and maintaining accurate records for environmental indicators.
• Promote sustainability awareness through orientation programs, training sessions, and communication of environmental messages to departments.
• Support responsible procurement by working with Procurement and operational departments to encourage environmentally responsible purchasing.

Compliance and Safety

• Adhere to all company and property policies and procedures, maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information and protecting company assets.
• Report accidents, injuries, environmental incidents, and unsafe work conditions to management.
• Complete required safety training and certifications.
• Follow property safety, security, environmental, and emergency procedures, identifying and reporting unsafe or environmentally harmful conditions.
• Comply with hazardous material handling requirements where applicable.

Communication and Collaboration

• Communicate clearly and professionally, preparing accurate written reports and correspondence.
• Maintain effective communication with operational departments and management.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with associates and management, supporting colleagues to achieve shared environmental and sustainability goals.
• Partner with operational departments to improve environmental performance and encourage cooperation in sustainability initiatives.

Quality Assurance and Physical Requirements

• Monitor compliance with environmental procedures and standards, identifying opportunities for improvement and recommending practical enhancements.
• Support corrective and preventive action plans and participate in audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Move through all areas of the property to conduct inspections, standing, walking, or moving for extended periods.
• Access various operational locations including kitchens, engineering areas, waste areas, landscaping areas, beaches, and back-of-house areas.
• Utilize computers and standard office equipment for extended periods.
