The Role of Sustainability Engineer

AECOM is seeking a Sustainability Engineer to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role focuses on driving sustainability initiatives and achieving environmental and operational excellence goals. The engineer will collaborate across departments to develop, implement, and monitor sustainable practices aligned with corporate strategy and regional sustainability objectives. The position requires a combination of technical expertise and a visionary approach to create environmental impact while optimizing organizational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive environmental impact assessments and sustainability audits across organizational operations and facilities.
• Develop and implement sustainability strategies and action plans to reduce carbon footprint, energy consumption, and waste generation.
• Analyze data and metrics to identify opportunities for process optimization and resource efficiency improvements.
• Design and oversee sustainability projects, including renewable energy initiatives, waste management programs, and water conservation efforts.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, standards, and corporate sustainability policies.
• Prepare sustainability reports and documentation for internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability considerations into business operations and decision-making processes.
• Research and evaluate emerging sustainable technologies and best practices for potential organizational adoption.
• Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sustainability goals and provide regular progress updates.
