Yoga Instructor Role Overview

The Yoga Instructor is responsible for promoting a relaxing and engaging atmosphere for guests participating in recreational activities. This full-time role involves encouraging participation, scheduling activities, and ensuring guest safety within recreational facilities. The instructor will also provide guidance on fitness equipment use and lead group fitness classes for all ability levels. The position requires 2-5 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote and schedule guest participation in recreational activities.
• Enforce facility rules and regulations to ensure the safety and welfare of participants.
• Monitor recreational areas and respond to emergencies according to established procedures.
• Identify and report situations where guests may be unable to safely participate in an activity.
• Provide initial assistance to injured guests until emergency medical services arrive.
• Maintain cleanliness and supply levels in fitness and recreation areas, including restrooms, showers, and equipment.
• Offer advice on correct exercise methods using fitness equipment.
• Instruct group fitness classes suitable for all ability levels.
• Guide guests during physical activities such as hikes or walks.

Operational Duties and Standards

• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management.
• Complete all required safety training and certifications.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
• Protect proprietary information and company assets.
• Anticipate and address guests’ service needs, including assisting individuals with disabilities.
• Communicate professionally and clearly with guests and colleagues.
• Answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships.
• Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.

Physical Requirements

• Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines.
• Perform movements such as reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Navigate stairs and/or service ramps.
• Lift or carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.

Experience and Work Environment

This role requires 2-5 years of relevant experience. As a full-time position, the Yoga Instructor will operate within the recreational facilities of The Ritz-Carlton, contributing to the delivery of the brand's "Gold Standards" of luxury service.
