About the Role

Bechtel Corporation is seeking an Innovation Lead to join its team in Al Jubail, Eastern Region. This full-time position focuses on advancing Bechtel's digital solutions and innovation capabilities within a project environment. The role involves fostering a culture of digital transformation by developing, piloting, and implementing solutions across various project phases, including Engineering, Procurement, Project Controls, Construction, and Commissioning.

Project Context

The Jubail project in Saudi Arabia represents a significant achievement for Bechtel, having managed its development since the mid-1970s as the Management Services Contractor for the Royal Commission. This role will contribute to the ongoing management of design submissions and oversight of construction work performed by local contractors, integrating innovation into these processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct workshops with clients, partners, and stakeholders to define project innovation use-cases, roadmaps, and implementation plans.
• Facilitate an innovation change control board to identify impactful innovations, plan implementation, manage change, and ensure institutionalization.
• Review and enhance tender documents with contract language to support innovation adoption by delivery teams.
• Develop scorecards with project teams to assess delivery team capability and capacity for upskilling towards innovation and technology adoption goals.
• Create training plans for the effective use of new technologies.
• Collaborate with Functional Innovation and Information Management teams to leverage standards, integrate best practices, and share project insights.
• Define and deploy project dashboards to monitor and track the implementation of innovation use-cases and related workflows.
• Establish communication structures, stakeholder engagement plans, mobilization strategies, deployment processes, and success measurement frameworks.
• Capture lessons learned and best practices to implement improved workflows.
• Provide input for Work Orders, RFPs, and Contracts related to innovation and digital execution.
• Review project documentation to ensure alignment with the innovation roadmap and plans.
• Conduct regular assessments of innovation plan implementation and maturity on the project to identify improvement opportunities.
• Champion innovation across the project by fostering a culture where ideas and improvement opportunities are raised, considered, and implemented.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction, or Computer Science.
• 10-13 years of experience in delivering large, complex AEC projects.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in innovation, digital automation, GIS/BIM/Reality Capture implementation.
• Demonstrated experience developing innovation plans and an innovation strategy.
• Experience with dashboard definition, creation, and deployment using tools like PowerBI.
• Experience working collaboratively with senior client staff, cross-functional project teams, design consultants, and contractors.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Ability to problem-solve within an integrated project delivery environment, applying industry best practices.
• Knowledge and experience in digital solutions for design and construction management work processes and tools, with an understanding of client environments and unique requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to explain digital transformation and solutions to all organizational levels.
• Self-motivated with strong leadership skills and the ability to influence without direct authority.
• Proven ability to manage priorities, take on evolving responsibilities, and provide direction to digital leads in engineering, construction, and other cross-functional teams.
