About the Advisor Safety Health & Environment Role at AECOM

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as an Advisor Safety Health & Environment. This full-time role focuses on ensuring comprehensive health, safety, and environmental compliance at a cutting-edge stadium facility. The successful candidate will operate as a key HSE Officer, responsible for safeguarding staff, visitors, and the facility itself during daily operations and various events. This position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Purpose of the Role

The primary purpose of this critical role is to establish and maintain a robust safety culture and ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the stadium environment. The Advisor Safety Health & Environment will play a pivotal part in mitigating risks, responding to incidents, and fostering a secure setting for all stakeholders, contributing directly to the operational excellence and reputation of the facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive HSE policies and procedures specifically tailored for the stadium.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Lead incident investigations, analyze root causes, and recommend preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
  • Coordinate and deliver essential safety training programs for both staff and contractors.
  • Manage emergency response planning and coordinate effectively with local authorities and emergency services.
  • Monitor and ensure strict compliance with local Saudi Arabian and international HSE regulations and standards.
  • Oversee environmental management initiatives, including waste management strategies and sustainability programs.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate HSE documentation, reports, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with event organizers and stadium management to ensure safety protocols are followed during sports events and other large gatherings.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging HSE trends relevant to stadium management.
  • Perform regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions as required.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with regulatory agencies and key stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position must demonstrate a strong background as an HSE professional. The role requires 5-10 years of experience in a relevant safety, health, and environment capacity, preferably within large-scale facilities or event management. A proven track record in developing and implementing HSE policies, conducting audits, and managing incident response is essential.
