About the Assistant Chef Role

Sahat Almajd Trading Company is seeking a full-time Assistant Chef for its operations in Riyadh. This on-site position offers an opportunity to contribute to a professional culinary environment with a focus on quality and consistency.

Core Responsibilities

The Assistant Chef will play a supportive role in the daily functioning of the kitchen. Key duties include:

  • Assisting the Head Chef with all aspects of daily kitchen operations.
  • Preparing and portioning ingredients for various menu items.
  • Cooking menu items according to established recipes and standards.
  • Ensuring food presentation meets company guidelines.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen space.
  • Adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Ensuring timely and consistent preparation of all dishes.
  • Assisting with inventory management and stock rotation.
  • Receiving and properly storing incoming supplies.
  • Supporting menu development and basic food costing under supervision.
  • Collaborating effectively with the entire kitchen team.
  • Following instructions and guidance from senior chefs.
  • Contributing to a safe, efficient, and high-quality culinary output.

Required Qualifications

Candidates for this role should possess a foundational understanding of culinary practices. Specific requirements include:

  • Solid basic culinary skills, including food preparation, cooking techniques, and knife skills.
  • Familiarity with kitchen operations, food safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
  • Good time management and multitasking capabilities.
  • Attention to detail in a dynamic kitchen environment.
  • A team-oriented approach with effective communication skills.
  • Physical stamina for standing and performing kitchen duties.

Experience and Preferences

While not strictly mandatory, relevant experience and additional training are considered advantageous for this position. The company prefers candidates with:

  • 0-1 year of experience in a professional kitchen or hospitality setting.
  • A culinary certification or equivalent relevant training.

Work Schedule and Location

This is a full-time, on-site position located in Riyadh. Flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, may be required based on operational needs.
