About the Role

ACCA Careers is seeking an Assurance - External Audit Manager for its operations in Riyadh. This full-time position is within the banking sector, requiring a professional with 5-10 years of experience. The salary is not disclosed.

Role Context and Contribution

PwC Middle East, with a presence of 40 years and over 12,000 professionals across 12 countries, offers a blend of international expertise and regional understanding. The Assurance practice, comprising over 2,300 individuals, focuses on delivering high-quality audits and risk services. As an Audit Manager, you will manage a client portfolio, oversee audit assignments from strategy to execution, and contribute to solving complex business issues. This role is integral to building trust and driving sustained outcomes through independent assurance over financial reporting.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage client portfolios, addressing day-to-day liaison and technical matters.
  • Engage in business development, identifying opportunities and cultivating strong client relationships.
  • Develop strategies for complex technical challenges and enhance team technical expertise.
  • Manage and deliver large projects, ensuring timely completion.
  • Design audit strategies and oversee audit execution under engagement leader guidance.
  • Advise clients on financial reporting and regulatory developments, staying updated on changes.
  • Manage client relations with senior management, including board and audit committee presentations.
  • Ensure compliance with risk, quality, and independence standards.
  • Maintain awareness of local and national business and economic issues.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members, prioritizing their well-being.
  • Promote digital initiatives and the adoption of audit transformation technologies.
  • Participate in recruitment by interviewing and selecting candidates.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A degree in accounting, finance, or a related academic field.
  • A minimum of 6-8 years of professional experience in external financial audit, preferably within a Big 4 firm.
  • Completion of a recognized professional qualification (*, ACCA, CA, ACA, CPA).
  • Recent experience auditing Banking clients is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in applying International Standards on Auditing (ISAs) and a strong understanding of IFRS relevant to financial services (*, IFRS 9, IFRS 17) and financial services regulations.
  • Experience managing audits from planning to completion.

Required Skills and Attributes

  • Bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English (oral and written) is advantageous.
