About Aajil and the Credit Lead Role

Aajil is a high-growth fintech company dedicated to redefining B2B Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) solutions. We empower Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the construction and manufacturing sectors with flexible, fast, and accessible financing. Based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, we are seeking a Credit Lead to join our full-time team, a pivotal role at the core of our operations.

The Credit Lead's Contribution

Credit is fundamental to Aajil's business model, directly influencing capital, risk, and client relationships. This is a hands-on role where the Credit Lead will drive credit assessments for B2B clients and own financing decisions. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering sound, well-structured risk judgments, demonstrating a deep understanding of SME financials, and identifying potential risk indicators. This position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience and involves end-to-end ownership of cases, from analysis to decision support and internal coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end credit assessments for SME and B2B clients, including financial statement analysis, ratio analysis, and comprehensive risk evaluation.
  • Prepare structured credit memos that present clear recommendations for financing decisions.
  • Identify and flag risk signals early, whether present in financial data, client behavior, or broader sector trends.
  • Collaborate directly with commercial and operations teams to ensure efficient progression of cases through the credit lifecycle.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of credit processes, scoring models, and internal policies as the business expands.
  • Maintain portfolio quality through ongoing monitoring of active financing cases and proactive flagging of any deterioration signals.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience in assessing SME or corporate clients, including the preparation of credit memos, making recommendations, and owning outcomes.
  • Strong command of financial statements and the ability to interpret underlying financial health.
  • Familiarity with key credit risk metrics such as liquidity ratios, leverage, coverage, and Debt Service Coverage Ratio (DSCR).
  • Comfort working in a dynamic, fast-moving environment where processes are actively being developed and refined.

Work Environment and Company Culture

At Aajil, the focus is on achieving results rather than tracking activity, trusting individuals to deliver impact effectively. Employees are given significant responsibility and ownership over meaningful challenges, leading to visible impact. The culture supports accelerated professional growth through direct execution and substantial early responsibility. Aajil operates on a trust-first principle, empowering experienced professionals with autonomy, ownership, and decision-making authority.

Application Information

Candidates who meet the above qualifications are encouraged to apply for this full-time position in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
