About the Customer Solution Design Engineer Role

KONE is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Customer Solution Design Engineer (MP) to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves providing technical expertise to the sales team, translating customer requirements into optimal KONE solutions, and ensuring KONE tender layouts and specifications are integrated into customer building specifications. The role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in the elevator business or a related field, with a Bachelor's or Diploma degree in Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and analyze customer drawings, raising Requests for Information (RFIs) for any conflicts with KONE commitments.
• Create 2D and 3D layout drawings that comply with customer document control procedures and KONE KOS standards.
• Develop optimal technical solutions for non-standard customer needs.
• Ensure clarity on the solution's scope, including KONE and third-party offerings.
• Participate in customer meetings and address technical inquiries.
• Select appropriate product platforms for offerings and propose solutions across KONE business lines (new services, escalators, elevators, doors, etc.).
• Participate in product and new service release information sessions.
• Provide technical training to Sales, Installation, and Maintenance teams as needed.
• Contribute input on customization, standardization, and interface requirements for product portfolio management.
• Contribute to the Customer Solutions Engineering virtual and local network.
• Ensure final KONE drawings align with customer IFC drawings and SL layout drawings.
• Initiate manufacturing orders based on approved designs.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor or Diploma degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the elevator business or a relevant field.
• Experience level of 5-10 years is preferred.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

• Excellent verbal and written English and Arabic language skills.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and customer handling abilities.
• Understanding of different building types and customer segments.
• Good knowledge of environmental and sustainability requirements and norms.
• Proficiency in engineering tools such as CAD and BIM.
• Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit 2022, and BIM360 is mandatory.
• Basic knowledge of competitors' products.
• Good understanding of product total costing and local norms and regulations.
