About the Role

Al Majed Oud is seeking a Director of Financial Planning and Analysis to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires a senior finance professional with over 10 years of experience to lead financial strategy and operations for a company with a rich history in the perfume and oud industry, established in 1956.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Director of Financial Planning and Analysis will be instrumental in guiding the company's financial direction. This role involves leading critical financial processes and providing strategic insights to support business objectives. Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing the annual budgeting process, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial planning.
• Preparing detailed analysis of actual performance against budget and forecast, identifying key business insights and recommending corrective actions.
• Leading analysis across revenue, gross margin, operating expenses (OPEX), capital expenditures (CAPEX), working capital, and cash flow.
• Managing product costing analysis, encompassing raw material costs, production costs, labor, overhead allocation, landed costs, and cost drivers.
• Reviewing Bill of Materials (BOM), routing, product master data, costing assumptions, and ERP costing setup.
• Analyzing standard cost versus actual cost variances and proposing measures for cost efficiency improvements.
• Conducting pricing analysis, margin simulations, discount impact assessments, promotion profitability, and product profitability studies.
• Supporting management in pricing decisions by integrating cost, margin, market positioning, product mix, and profitability targets.
• Reviewing inventory valuation, stock aging, slow-moving items, Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), and related provisions.
• Developing profitability analysis by product, category, channel, branch/store, customer segment, and business unit.
• Building financial dashboards, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), executive reports, and performance review packs.
• Providing financial support for business cases, feasibility studies, new initiatives, expansion plans, and investment decisions.
• Collaborating closely with Commercial, Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Accounting, and Executive Management teams.
• Driving improvements in forecasting accuracy, cost visibility, pricing discipline, and data-driven decision-making.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess extensive experience in the following areas:

• Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
• Budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning
• Cost accounting, product costing, and manufacturing costing principles
• Pricing analysis, margin analysis, and profitability management
• Standard vs. actual cost variance analysis
• BOM review, routing, inventory valuation, COGS, and cost-driver analysis
• Business partnering and providing strategic decision support
• Management reporting and executive presentations
• Financial modeling, scenario analysis, and developing business cases
• Proficiency with budgeting systems such as Anaplan, Jedox, Oracle EPM, SAP BPC, or similar tools.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
• Advanced skills in Excel, Power BI, dashboard creation, and data analytics.
• A strong understanding of the interdependencies between costing, pricing, inventory, general ledger (GL), and financial reporting.
• Demonstrated team leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Experience in retail, manufacturing, FMCG, perfume, cosmetics, consumer goods, or product-based industries is highly preferred. Professional certifications such as CMA, FPAC, CGMA / CIMA, Anaplan / Jedox certification, FMVA, or an MBA are advantageous.
