About the Document Controller Role

Parsons Corporation is seeking a Document Controller for a full-time position in Riyadh. This role is integral to ensuring the effective management, control, and maintenance of all project and organizational documents, adhering to established procedures and standards. The Document Controller will play a key part in maintaining document accuracy, traceability, and timely distribution to support project delivery and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

The Document Controller will be responsible for a range of tasks focused on document lifecycle management:

  • Establishing and maintaining document control procedures, numbering systems, and filing structures.
  • Receiving, logging, tracking, and distributing project documentation including drawings, specifications, reports, submittals, RFIs, contracts, and correspondence.
  • Ensuring only current, approved document versions are in circulation and that superseded versions are archived.
  • Maintaining electronic and physical document registers with accurate metadata, revision history, and status.
  • Managing document transmittals to and from clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Operating and administering the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) or Common Data Environment (CDE), including setting up project folders, permissions, workflows, and templates.
  • Providing user support for the EDMS, including access, uploads, downloads, searches, and troubleshooting.
  • Conducting periodic audits of the EDMS to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Verifying document completeness, format, naming conventions, revision control, and required approvals.
  • Coordinating the flow of documents between internal departments and external parties, monitoring reviews and approvals.
  • Providing regular reports on document status and key metrics to project management.
  • Organizing and maintaining document archives for active and closed projects.
  • Preparing handover documentation packages for clients, including final approved documents and records.

Required Qualifications

Candidates for this position should possess the following qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in document control, records management, or administrative support, preferably within engineering, construction, oil & gas, or similar project environments.
  • Experience working with an electronic document management system or CDE.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

Additional qualifications and skills that would be advantageous include:

  • Post-secondary education in administration, records management, or a related field.
  • Prior experience as a Document Controller on large-scale projects or within a PMO/engineering environment.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and practices for document control and records management.
  • A basic understanding of engineering and construction documentation.
  • Exposure to ISO quality management systems or similar frameworks.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage large volumes of documents and data systematically.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
  • A customer-service mindset when supporting project teams and external stakeholders.
  • Discretion in handling confidential and sensitive documents.

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh.
