About the Role

English Path, a global English language school and pathway provider, is seeking an experienced EFL Teacher specializing in Academic English and English for Academic Purposes (EAP). This full-time position is within the Young Learner Academy (YLA), a key growth area for the organization, which delivers language-focused camps and diverse academic, cultural, and sports programs worldwide. The role focuses on empowering students through language learning and cultural experiences, aligning with English Path's mission to foster global communication and opportunity.

Role Responsibilities

The primary responsibility is to deliver engaging and effective lessons that build students' proficiency in reading, writing, listening, speaking, and academic vocabulary. This includes developing essential skills such as paragraph writing, skimming, scanning, and active listening, ensuring alignment with course outcomes and academic standards. The role also involves addressing common language challenges, particularly for Arabic-speaking learners.

For qualified candidates, teaching will encompass advanced academic skills including essay writing and structure, referencing, paraphrasing, critical thinking, and data analysis. Teachers will prepare students for the linguistic and academic demands of higher education, including seminars, research tasks, and independent study, familiarizing them with global academic conventions.

Additional responsibilities include creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging independent learning habits, and supporting students transitioning into higher education. Assessment of student work, provision of constructive feedback, and maintenance of accurate records are also key components. The role may involve contributing to teaching materials development, placement testing, quality assurance processes, and participating in professional development and academic planning.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and a CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL, or equivalent teaching qualification. A DELTA, DipTESOL, or MA TESOL/Applied Linguistics is desirable.

The role requires 2–3 years of post-CELTA teaching experience, with a preference for experience in General English and Academic English/EAP. Experience in the Middle East or working with Arabic-speaking learners is preferred. A strong understanding of communicative language teaching methodologies and familiarity with academic English assessments such as IELTS and Cambridge exams are necessary. Proficiency in using digital tools and Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) like Moodle or Canvas is expected.
