About the Facilities Manager Role

Amazon is expanding its operations in Saudi Arabia and is seeking a Facilities Manager, Maintenance & Engineering MENA RME, to join the team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is integral to Amazon's operations, focusing on all facilities maintenance tasks through direct reports and third-party contractors.

Role Purpose and Leadership

The Facilities Manager is crucial for enabling the Operations team to deliver an excellent customer experience. This role involves active participation in all daily business activities and project initiatives, leading a team of Facilities and Service Technicians to support a 24/7 operation. The manager will serve as the direct superior for the Facilities team and act as a main deputy for the facility manager when not on site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure a strong safety focus by training, developing, and coaching the team.
  • Maintain high availability of FC equipment by ensuring all preventive maintenance is carried out.
  • Lead, support, and mentor the team to ensure safe, high-standard, and effective work.
  • Identify root causes of problems and provide effective remedies.
  • Ensure, in cooperation with the team, compliance with safety regulations and accurate record-keeping of activities performed.
  • Implement Amazon standards and focus on preventive maintenance to ensure high equipment availability for internal customers.
  • Manage and support the training program for the team, including developing training plans for facilities and service technicians.
  • Manage local projects and support construction projects assigned by the manager.
  • Support multi-site production in a safe, customer-focused manner, demonstrating high self-motivation and customer-centricity.
  • Develop and design solutions to complex problems and manage outside contractors.
  • Handle multiple projects and daily activities, meet deadlines, and develop plans to achieve departmental and distribution goals.
  • Ensure all safety programs and procedures are followed and develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs.
  • Foster strong working relationships with operations teams across all levels in the organization.
  • Contribute to the development, setting, and tracking of budgets.
  • Mentor facilities associates by motivating and providing direction to help them achieve their goals.
  • Promote and conduct good housekeeping practices.
  • Provide enriched feedback to enhance individual performance.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 4+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of direct leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) experience.
  • Bachelor's degree, or 2+ years of Amazon experience.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including MS Excel, Word, and Office.

Technical Competencies

  • Ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot power distribution systems, branch circuits, lighting systems, transformers, and wiring methods and materials, with the team.
  • Ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot photo eye components, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, servo drives, and frequency inverters, etc., with the team.

Work Environment and Expectations

This role requires the ability to work shifts to maintain close contact with the team and daily operations. The Facilities Manager must be prepared to be on call for emergencies and manage responsibilities effectively within a dynamic environment.
