About the Role

Tabby is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as the Head of Anti-Fraud. This is a key position within our rapidly growing Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) company. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive fraud risk management strategy to safeguard our platform and customers from fraudulent activities, in line with SAMA regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an Anti-Fraud strategy in accordance with SAMA Anti-Fraud Rules.
• Utilize data analysis, statistical modeling, and fraud detection tools to identify suspicious patterns, trends, and anomalies in financial transactions.
• Implement monitoring systems to promptly detect and investigate potential fraud incidents.
• Execute all required processes designed to manage antifraud risk or comply with regulations, policies, and procedures, including conducting investigations.
• Contribute to the preparation of antifraud reports for the Board of Directors.
• Proactively monitor and review activities, transactions, and data suspected of possible fraud using appropriate analytical techniques.
• Collaborate with the credit risk team to establish, and continuously enhance, rules and scenarios for fraud prevention, mitigation, and detection.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the regulator (SAMA) regarding Tabby's anti-fraud unit, its strategies, policies, processes, registers, and metrics.
• Create internal awareness at Tabby on the risks of fraud.
• Research and stay informed on all fraud trends, particularly in BNPL, digital financing, payments, and other fintech-related fields. Work with risk and product teams to implement systems to mitigate these risks.
• Conduct periodic assessments of monitoring rules to validate the efficiency of fraud detection and prevention systems.

Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in fraud prevention; experience within a fintech company is a significant advantage.
• Proven experience leading end-to-end standardization of fraud risk identification and detection procedures, including the assessment of fraud risk scenarios.
• Experience working with SAMA regulations.
• Strong analytical and data capabilities.

Technical Skills and Aptitude

• Proficiency in SQL and Python is considered a plus.
• Experience with visualization technologies such as Tableau is considered a plus.
• You thrive in ambiguous environments, ask incisive questions, and possess intellectual curiosity.
• You have a structured approach to problem-solving combined with strong quantitative skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead interactions with both business and technical teams.
