About the Lead Cloud Engineer Role

Astek is seeking a highly skilled Lead Cloud Engineer for a client in the financial services sector. This full-time, on-site position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role requires a strong background in hybrid cloud strategies and hands-on expertise in managing secure, compliant migrations from on-premise to cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and manage integrations between on-premise and cloud infrastructures.
• Lead on-premise to cloud migration projects, focusing on minimizing business risk and operational disruption.
• Design secure cloud landing zones, ensuring effective networking and identity integration.
• Optimize cloud resources for cost, performance, reliability, and security.
• Ensure high availability, resilience, and security of the cloud infrastructure.
• Manage lifecycle operations, including capacity planning, patching, and upgrades for cloud services.
• Act as a technical authority, providing senior-level guidance on infrastructure and cloud decisions.
• Drive automation initiatives and promote Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
• Support efficient CI/CD pipelines for modern application delivery.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in IT infrastructure and cloud technologies.
• At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role.
• Proven experience within the financial services sector is mandatory.
• Demonstrated experience in owning and executing on-premise to cloud migration projects.

Technical Skills and Expertise

• Strong expertise in VMware virtualization platforms and enterprise networking.
• Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, specifically Terraform.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automation techniques.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, and Python.
• Understanding of monitoring and logging platforms.
• Comfort working in regulated and audit-driven environments.

Work Environment and Location

This is a full-time, on-site position located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves working within a client in the financial services industry, requiring adherence to strict compliance and security standards.
