About Tahaluf and the Portfolio Marketing Director Role
Tahaluf is Saudi Arabia's largest B2B live and on-demand events organizer, established as a joint venture between Informa PLC, the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones (SAFCSP), and the Events Investment Fund (EIF). The company is responsible for significant events such as LEAP, Cityscape, Black Hat MEA, and CPHI Middle East. We are seeking a Portfolio Marketing Director to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires over 10 years of experience and involves driving marketing and communications for a portfolio of high-growth events within the region.
Role Purpose and Strategic Impact
The Portfolio Marketing Director will lead the marketing and communications strategy for a portfolio of events in Saudi Arabia, a key growth market. This role is a member of the cross-functional senior leadership team, playing a crucial part in developing Tahaluf brands and executing a vision for market engagement. Recommendations will be informed by customer research, internal data, and industry trends. The Director will lead an operational team of marketers, overseeing product marketing strategies from value proposition and messaging to brand amplification, PR, data build, performance analysis, and channel marketing. The role also supports the development and launch of new products through effective go-to-market strategies, sales support, and price validation. With growing strength in ecommerce, marketing will increasingly contribute to direct sales. The position reports to Senior Management and operates within a matrix organizational structure where functional and commercial leadership responsibilities are shared.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a member of the portfolio’s management team and represent the portfolio across ME and divisional groups on marketing, digital, data, and customer insights.
- Act as Portfolio Sponsor for GDPR and take an active role in the development and implementation of Corporate/EMEA initiatives.
- Collaborate with portfolio management to develop value propositions and messaging to drive engagement and conversion.
- Identify and deliver key portfolio-wide projects to position products for continued growth, including branding, cross-marketing, and key account management.
- Utilize customer survey feedback to inform marketing strategies and work with the portfolio management team to mitigate risks to achieving marketing targets.
- Lead a team of marketing and digital managers, providing guidance, feedback, and inspiration, while developing skills, competencies, and succession plans.
- Champion the adoption and optimization of marketing technology solutions and cultivate a high-performance culture within the marketing team.
- Lead the portfolio’s marketing, data, and digital strategy, ensuring successful delivery of campaigns in line with agreed KPIs and divisional strategy.
- Manage budgets and allocate resources amongst projects, demonstrating and encouraging creative approaches using market intelligence.
- Work with show teams to optimize customer engagement at each touchpoint by introducing new marketing methods and reducing reliance on less effective activities.
- Drive data-driven decision-making by identifying trends in data and sharing marketing case studies and best practices across the EMEA business.

- Devise and deliver innovative marketing campaigns to achieve predetermined objectives and targets.
- Ensure the marketing team is motivated, appropriately skilled, and trained to fulfill their responsibilities.
- Foster collaborative work between the marketing team and other departments to achieve shared objectives.
- Deliver marketing campaigns within budget, with spend allocations based on sound commercial reasoning.
Qualifications and Experience
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- An inspiring marketing and brand leader with over 10 years of experience in people management and leadership.
- A history of building and nurturing high-performing teams, with a track record of setting and delivering to high standards.
- Solid experience in marketing transformation and running agile teams is advantageous.
- Experience in developing a brand vision and driving activity to realize it through PR and social media.
- An accomplished marketing strategist with experience in developing value propositions, pricing, and driving agility in campaigning and execution.
- Exceptional knowledge of online and offline channels and integrated campaigns.
- Solid experience marketing a mixed portfolio of products, including events, SaaS, or subscription products, with B2B lead generation experience.
- Analytical with a data-driven mindset and experience in developing a test-and-learn culture.
- Strong content development skills to support strategic goals and experienced in market analysis.
- Good working knowledge of marketing technology and analytics tools such as Eloqua, Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target, Drupal, and Google Analytics.
- A strong collaborator, proficient in both internal and external communications.
