Senior Architect

About the Role

AECO – Advance Eco Building Contracting Company is seeking a Senior Architect to lead architectural technical activities for contracting projects in Riyadh, Riyadh. This full-time role requires a candidate with strong technical expertise and practical construction knowledge to support project delivery from initial drawing review through site execution and handover.

Role Overview

The Senior Architect will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all architectural technical aspects within AECO's projects. This involves ensuring compliance with design specifications, resolving technical issues, and managing documentation throughout the project lifecycle. The role demands a proactive approach to coordination and problem-solving, working closely with various stakeholders to achieve project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and coordinate architectural shop drawings, construction details, and as-built drawings.
• Manage technical submittals, including material approval requests, samples, mock-ups, compliance statements, and RFIs.
• Review design drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) to identify discrepancies, missing information, and coordination issues.
• Coordinate architectural works with structural and MEP disciplines, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
• Prepare quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and technical comparisons as required for tenders, procurement, and variations.
• Develop value engineering proposals that maintain design intent, quality, and project requirements.
• Liaise with consultants and clients to resolve technical comments and secure timely approvals.
• Maintain drawing and submittal registers, aligning submission priorities with procurement and construction schedules.
• Support site teams in resolving technical issues and ensuring execution complies with approved drawings and specifications.
• Guide architects and draftsmen, reviewing deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and coordination.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in architectural roles within contracting projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in architectural technical activities and construction practices.
• Proven ability to manage and coordinate complex architectural documentation and processes.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Riyadh. The role involves working within project teams and coordinating with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
