About the Role at AtkinsRéalis

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Cost Control professional to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is central to ensuring project financial health by meticulously managing costs from planning through execution.

Role Purpose and Scope

The Senior Cost Control professional is responsible for the comprehensive planning, monitoring, analysis, and control of project costs to ensure delivery within approved budgets. This role requires close coordination with project teams, finance, procurement, and management to deliver accurate cost forecasts, variance analysis, and robust financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Contracts Manager in establishing project cash flow and budgets.
  • Control project expenses and revenue to ensure conformity with established cash flow and budgets, monitoring deviations between budgeted and actual figures.
  • Incorporate overhead and financial expenses into project cash flow based on Accounting reports.
  • Track the profitability of individual projects and consolidate cash flow statements and budgets across all projects.
  • Estimate project receivables and payables, and compute rework costs, indicators, hourly rates, and shipped Bill of Quantity (BOQ) value.
  • Prepare Quarterly and yearly financial reports for submission to the Ministry of Finance.
  • Plan, implement, and manage the company's Accounting department, including suggesting and executing improvements such as automation, procedure changes, and new personnel onboarding.
  • Oversee the overall management of the company's cash flow and control the preparation of all accounting and financial reports.
  • Negotiate and contract client deals, excluding technical engineering details.
  • Plan, order, and conduct internal audits to optimize operations and ensure compliance with ISO standards.
  • Analyze and develop company processes to meet ISO 9001-2015 Standards.
  • Support the development and implementation of the company's strategic plan and generate specific reports for budget development and implementation.
  • Control and work towards reducing production costs.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly accounts reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Manage receivables and payables accounts, alongside general company accounts.
  • Prepare Journal vouchers, employee salaries, income taxes, and CNSS.
  • Perform bank reconciliation, all related entry adjustments, and VAT transaction analysis.
  • Liaise effectively with both internal and external auditors.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in cost control or a related financial management capacity. A strong understanding of project finance, budgeting, comprehensive accounting principles, and financial reporting is essential. Experience with ISO 9001-2015 standards and internal audit processes is also required.

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves working within a dynamic project environment, collaborating closely with various internal departments.
