The Senior Design Architect Role

GEO Global Engineering Office is seeking a Senior Design Architect to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time, on-site position responsible for leading architectural design projects from initial concept through detailed development and delivery. The Senior Design Architect plays a critical role in overseeing design proposals, coordinating construction drawings, and ensuring the integrity of the design intent throughout the project lifecycle. The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders to translate project requirements into high-quality, practical, and sustainable architectural solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and guide architectural design work, ensuring adherence to project objectives and quality standards.
• Manage comprehensive design documentation throughout all project phases.
• Actively participate in design reviews, providing expert input and constructive feedback.
• Ensure all project outputs align with GEO’s established standards and relevant regional regulations.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior architects and design team members.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of design management processes.
• Support business development initiatives through effective design presentations and technical input.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Professional degree in Architecture (Bachelor’s or Master’s) from an accredited institution; professional registration or licensure is preferred.
• A minimum of 5-10 years of demonstrated experience in Architectural Design and Architecture, with a proven track record of leading complex building projects.
• Experience in Design Management, including the coordination of multidisciplinary teams and oversight of the design process from concept to delivery.
• Demonstrated experience in sustainable design principles, local building codes specific to the region, and effective coordination with various engineering disciplines.

Essential Skills and Technical Proficiency

• Advanced proficiency with relevant design and documentation software, including but not limited to AutoCAD, Revit, BIM tools, and SketchUp.
• Proficiency in developing and reviewing Construction Drawings, technical details, and related documentation to ensure accuracy and constructability.
• Effective Communication skills, including the ability to present complex design concepts clearly, collaborate effectively with clients and consultants, and provide precise feedback to project teams.
• Ability to work on-site in Riyadh and manage multiple concurrent projects efficiently while maintaining high standards of design quality.

Work Environment and Expectations

This full-time position is based on-site in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively within a dynamic team environment, contribute to the firm's commitment to diverse projects, and actively participate in mentoring junior architects and designers.
