About the Role

WSP in the Middle East is seeking a proactive and experienced Site Engineer – Vertical Transport to join their project delivery team in Dubai, UAE. This full-time position requires a professional to oversee the installation, coordination, and quality assurance of vertical transportation systems on-site, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.

Role Overview

The Site Engineer – Vertical Transport will be responsible for the on-site execution of vertical transportation systems, including elevators, escalators, and moving walkways. The role involves ensuring seamless integration with other project disciplines, maintaining adherence to relevant codes and standards, and facilitating the timely handover of systems to the client.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the site execution of vertical transport systems according to project drawings and manufacturer specifications.
• Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and other disciplines (civil, MEP, architectural) for effective integration.
• Monitor installation progress, conduct inspections, and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.
• Liaise with consultants, contractors, and client representatives on technical matters and progress updates.
• Review method statements and risk assessments, ensuring adherence to all safety protocols during installation.
• Assist in the testing and commissioning of vertical transport systems and ensure timely handover to the client.
• Prepare daily site reports, monitor material deliveries, and track work schedules.
• Address and resolve technical site issues in a timely manner.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 4–6 years of specific experience in vertical transport system installation, preferably on high-rise or large-scale projects.
• Solid understanding of lift/escalator design, installation standards, and coordination principles.
• Familiarity with major lift brands such as Otis, KONE, Schindler, Mitsubishi, and Thyssenkrupp is preferred.
