The Role: Typhoon Counter Measure Developer

The Typhoon Counter Measure Developer is a full-time role based in Riyadh, focused on assessing and exploiting Track While Scan (TWS) vulnerabilities. The primary objective is to develop effective platform-specific Counter Measures (CM) and to communicate recommendations and their rationale to relevant stakeholders. This position also involves providing the RSAF with critical support and knowledge transfer, enabling them to independently assess and exploit TWS vulnerabilities, develop effective countermeasures, and articulate their recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess TWS reports and analyse existing Counter Measures (CMs).
• Design platform-specific Coordinated Countermeasures (CCM), comprising electronic counter measures (ECM), expendables, and manoeuvres.
• Generate descriptions and rationale for all countermeasures and their associated tactics for the platform-specific Countermeasure Handbook and Countermeasure Tactics Report.
• Support the Operations team as necessary to communicate Tactic and CM rationale to relevant stakeholders.
• Plan trials for countermeasure development and validation.
• Process and analyse data derived from trials and exercises.
• Develop and maintain operational processes and procedures.
• Report on all operational and technical aspects of the role.
• Act as the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) Threat Vulnerability Assessment and Countermeasures Development (TVACD) Section Lead.
• Provide line management for reporting staff, encompassing day-to-day team leadership and direction, team development through Personal Development Plans, Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) leadership by example, and daily team management to maximise utilisation, effectiveness, and efficiency for personnel issues.
• Manage Prime Contractor activities within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

Qualifications and Requirements

Candidates must meet the following essential criteria:

• A relevant Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification.
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft applications, Windows operating systems, and Internet search.
• Demonstrated experience in Operational Countermeasure development.
• Proficiency in the English language.
• An existing SCE registration or the ability to attain one.

Desirable qualifications include:

• Chartered status.
• Qualified Trainer certification.

This is a full-time position located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role operates within a dynamic environment supporting critical defence capabilities for the Royal Saudi Air Force.
