About the Role

The Luxury Collection is seeking a Director of Finance to join their team in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position will serve as the property's strategic financial business leader, responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies to meet brand and customer expectations while maximizing return on investment. The role involves creating and executing a business plan aligned with the property and brand's strategic objectives, focusing on financial activities and achieving desirable financial results.

Key Responsibilities

The Director of Finance will be instrumental in strategic planning and decision-making, including developing profit improvement initiatives, forecasting sales against expenses, and creating annual budget plans. This includes analyzing budget variances, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and implementing robust control systems to safeguard assets and enhance profitability. The role requires a thorough analysis of financial data and market trends, leading the development of a comprehensive annual business plan, and providing ongoing analytical support to operating departments. Accurate forecasting to enable operational adjustments is also a key duty.

Leadership and Stakeholder Management

This position requires strong leadership and interpersonal skills to influence the executive team, shape property strategies, and lead the finance team effectively. Responsibilities include communicating strategic goals clearly, overseeing audit processes, and ensuring clear accountability for team members. The Director of Finance will also manage communications with owners, understanding their priorities and advising the General Manager and executive committee on financial matters. Effective management of property working capital and cash flow, in accordance with brand procedures and owner requirements, is essential.

Financial Operations and Compliance

The role involves ensuring accurate documentation of profits and losses, monitoring and ensuring timely submission of all applicable taxes, and meeting reporting deadlines. Developing and supporting the achievement of performance, budget, and team goals is critical. This includes improving profit growth in operating departments and reviewing audit issues for accuracy. The Director of Finance will also oversee the purchasing process and ensure the P&L is accurate, with costs properly matched to revenue and recorded in the correct accounts. Compliance with management contracts, reporting requirements, and standard operating procedures is mandatory.

Human Resources and Team Development

The Director of Finance is responsible for ensuring team members are cross-trained to support daily operations and that property policies are administered fairly. This includes overseeing the orientation and training of new hires to ensure they can successfully perform their roles. Creating appropriate development plans based on individual strengths, development needs, and career aspirations is a key aspect of team management. The role also involves conducting performance reviews and participating in hiring activities as appropriate.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a 4-year bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting or a related major, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in finance and accounting or a related professional area. Alternatively, a Master's degree in Finance and Accounting or a related major with 1 year of relevant experience will be considered. The role is based in Makkah, serving the cities of Jeddah and Makkah.
