About the Role: Contracts Manager

AlBalad AlAmeen for Development and Urban Regeneration, an investment arm of the Municipality of Makkah established in 2009, is seeking a Contracts Manager to oversee all contract-related activities. This full-time position is based in Jeddah and Makkah. The company is responsible for strategic development and regeneration initiatives within the Holy City, managing a significant land bank and collaborating with various stakeholders on large-scale urban projects.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Contracts Manager will be responsible for the comprehensive administration and execution of all contracts. This includes preparing, reviewing, and negotiating agreements with clients and suppliers, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The role focuses on securing optimal benefits for the company, monitoring contract execution, and proactively resolving any disputes that may arise. A key aspect of this position involves ensuring that contracts clearly define terms and that these terms are effectively enforced.

Key Contractual Duties

  • Drafting and writing new contracts in alignment with organizational needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Reviewing existing and proposed contracts to ensure legal soundness, compliance with commercial and trading laws, and adherence to company policies.
  • Negotiating contract terms with suppliers, clients, and contractors to achieve favorable trading conditions.
  • Monitoring the execution of all contracts to protect the company's interests and ensure adherence to schedules and budgets.
  • Identifying and assessing contractual risks, implementing mitigation measures to minimize potential negative impacts.
  • Maintaining a secure electronic database of all contracts and related documentation for easy access and dispute resolution.
  • Preparing periodic reports for senior management on contract status and execution progress.
  • Ensuring timely management and signing of all contracts.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess a Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field. The position requires 0-1 years of experience in contract management or a closely related area. Proficiency in contract laws and regulations is essential, with a strong understanding of defining and enforcing contractual terms. The ideal candidate will be adept at identifying and incorporating necessary legal provisions to safeguard the company and limit risks, and will be able to provide consultations on contract execution aligned with strategic objectives.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Proficiency with contract management software such as DocuSign and ContractSafe.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of electronic contract management principles and practices.
  • Ability to prepare concise and clear reports for management.
  • Familiarity with electronic contract drafting and execution processes.
