About the Cook II Role

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Cook II to join our culinary team in Dammam, Eastern Region. This full-time position is ideal for individuals with 0-1 year of experience looking to contribute to a dynamic kitchen environment.

Core Responsibilities

The Cook II will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of food items in accordance with established recipes and quality standards. Key duties include:

  • Preparing food items through portioning, mincing, and storing.
  • Washing and peeling fresh vegetables and fruits.
  • Measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients according to recipes.
  • Preparing cold dishes.
  • Operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, and fryers.
  • Conducting tests to ensure food is prepared to perfection.
  • Monitoring food quality throughout the preparation process.
  • Plating and garnishing dishes according to established standards.
  • Serving appropriate food portions in suitable containers.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils.
  • Confirming appropriate temperatures for equipment and food.

Professional Conduct and Safety

Adherence to company policies and safety procedures is paramount. This includes:

  • Following all company and safety/security policies and procedures.
  • Reporting any accidents, damages, or unsafe working conditions to management.
  • Completing required safety and training certifications.
  • Maintaining a clean and professional appearance and demeanor.

  • Communicating clearly and professionally with colleagues.
  • Building and maintaining professional relationships within the team.
  • Supporting team efforts to achieve common goals.
  • Listening to and responding appropriately to concerns raised by associates.

Physical Requirements

This role requires physical stamina and the ability to perform various tasks, including:

  • Performing physical activities such as standing, sitting, walking, bending, kneeling, and stretching for extended periods.
  • Moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing 25 pounds or more without assistance.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • High school graduate or *** equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of related experience in a culinary role.
