About the Role

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Local Service Unit HSE Manager to join our team in Dammam, Eastern region. This full-time role is central to proactively leading and maintaining safe working practices and programs throughout the local organization. The Manager will ensure high-level safety and environmental performance, fostering an exemplary safety culture as part of our total commitment to quality and reliability.

Strategic Impact of the Role

The primary objective of this position is to drive accountability and continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental (HSE) performance across the local organization. The role involves coaching and supporting personnel at all levels to realize a robust safety culture. This commitment extends to ensuring all operations align with stringent safety and environmental standards and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate all health and safety initiatives, processes, and procedures throughout the organization to ensure a common and uniform understanding.
• Train, coach, and support the organization in health, safety, and environmental issues.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment towards health, safety, and environmental standards, guidelines, management systems, and procedures.
• Monitor compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements and handle non-conformance issues according to relevant procedures.
• Assist and guide all levels of management, supervisors, and employees on site to implement accident prevention activities, providing interface to Contractors/Clients where necessary.
• Support managers in the manufacturing facility and service sites in risk assessments of workspaces, work tasks, tools, and coordination of common spaces.
• Roll out, initiate, and maintain quality input for a health and safety management system that meets ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 specifications.
• Carry out safety and environmental audits, investigate accidents and root causes, and introduce and supervise corrective actions.
• Monitor, communicate, and apply standards created and/or maintained by external bodies, integrating them within internal health and safety management systems.
• Provide guidance on competency-based health, safety, and environmental training for all persons throughout the organization.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess 5-10 years of experience in a relevant health, safety, and environmental management position. A strong understanding of HSE standards, management systems, and compliance requirements, including ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 specifications, is essential. The ability to effectively communicate, train, and guide personnel at all organizational levels is also required.
