About the Agricultural Engineer Role

This role involves the technical study and design of agricultural systems, focusing on land characteristics, irrigation, drainage, and machinery. The successful candidate will contribute to the efficiency and development of agricultural operations.

Core Responsibilities

The Agricultural Engineer will be responsible for a range of technical duties aimed at optimizing agricultural land use and practices. This includes detailed analysis and planning, as well as the practical application and maintenance of agricultural equipment.

• Studying the physical and chemical properties of agricultural soils.
• Monitoring and analyzing plant, soil, and irrigation water samples.
• Evaluating fertilizer types and their impact on crop response.
• Selecting and studying appropriate irrigation systems, including surface, sprinkler, pivot, and localized methods.
• Designing agricultural irrigation and drainage network plans and overseeing their installation.
• Assessing and improving the efficiency of irrigation systems.
• Identifying suitable agricultural machinery for various tasks such as plowing, planting, spraying, and harvesting.
• Developing operating and maintenance programs for agricultural machinery to ensure readiness.

Professional Development and Reporting

This role requires continuous professional development and the ability to document and communicate findings effectively. The engineer will be expected to stay current with technological advancements in the field and maintain comprehensive records.

• Developing work methods and procedures, keeping pace with technical advancements.
• Preparing specialized documents and reports detailing work outcomes.
