About the Role

Huxley is seeking an experienced Cloud Architect for a contract position in Riyadh. This role is focused on designing and delivering enterprise cloud solutions within the banking sector, specifically for a leading financial institution. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping the company's cloud strategy, architecture, governance, security, and migration initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available cloud architectures across Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Lead cloud transformation and modernization initiatives within a banking environment.
• Develop cloud architecture frameworks, standards, governance models, and best practices.
• Create target-state architectures and cloud adoption roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
• Ensure cloud solutions comply with banking security, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
• Drive the migration of applications, databases, and infrastructure workloads to cloud platforms.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, application, and business teams to deliver cloud solutions.
• Conduct architecture reviews, risk assessments, and design assurance activities.
• Define disaster recovery, business continuity, and resilience strategies.
• Optimize cloud environments for performance, scalability, cost management, and operational excellence.
• Support DevOps, automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD implementation.
• Act as the cloud subject matter expert for architecture and strategic cloud initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 10+ years of overall IT experience.
• Minimum of 5+ years in Cloud Architecture roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with both Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Mandatory: Prior experience working directly for a Saudi Arabian Bank or a GCC-based Bank (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, or Oman).
• Proven experience delivering enterprise cloud transformation projects within the banking or financial services sector.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, governance, identity management, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with hybrid cloud and multi-cloud architectures.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess strong banking domain expertise and the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and technology leadership teams. Experience in delivering large-scale cloud transformation programs is highly valued. This role requires a strategic thinker with hands-on technical capability and a deep understanding of enterprise security and regulatory requirements within financial services.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, contract position based entirely onsite in Riyadh. Remote working arrangements are not available for this role.
