The Role of 3D Designer & 3D Printing Specialist

AlWesam International is seeking a 3D Designer & 3D Printing Specialist for a full-time, on-site position in Riyadh. This role involves the complete lifecycle of 3D product development, from initial concept and design to final production and post-processing. The specialist will be responsible for designing 3D models for various items, preparing them for 3D printing, operating and maintaining 3D printers, and ensuring high-quality output.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop accurate, production-ready 3D models for commemorative shields, custom gifts, and promotional products.
• Translate client ideas, sketches, and requirements into executable 3D designs.
• Utilize 3D design and modeling software such as Blender, 3ds Max, Maya, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Rhino.
• Prepare and optimize models for FDM 3D printing, including setting print orientation, supports, infill, layer height, and material selection.
• Operate and maintain Bambu Lab 3D printers and use Bambu Studio or similar slicing software.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot 3D printing issues to improve print quality, speed, and material efficiency.
• Perform post-processing and finishing tasks on printed items, including sanding, painting, coating, and assembly.
• Collaborate with design, marketing, and production teams to refine concepts and ensure designs meet branding and manufacturing requirements.
• Manage print schedules and material usage, contributing to the improvement of design workflows and product quality.
• Ensure product quality and adherence to production deadlines for all projects.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong 3D design and modeling skills using software such as Blender, 3ds Max, Maya, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Rhino.
• Hands-on experience with 3D printing technologies, including printer operation, calibration, slicing software, and basic maintenance.
• Proficiency with Bambu Lab printers and Bambu Studio is an advantage.
• Good understanding of FDM printing processes, settings, supports, infill, layer height, and material selection.
• Knowledge of post-processing techniques such as sanding, painting, coating, and assembly for display-quality products.
• Ability to interpret client briefs and adapt designs to branding and marketing requirements.
• Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
• Relevant technical or design diploma/degree or equivalent practical experience in 3D design, product design, or industrial design.
• Experience in advertising, marketing, or gift manufacturing environments is an advantage; familiarity with Saudi market preferences is a plus.
