Deutsche Bahn is seeking a passionate Electronics Engineer (Transportation Systems Signals) (f/m/d) for projects in Saudi Arabia. Key Responsibilities

The Electronics Engineer will be responsible for a range of technical and oversight duties related to railway signalling systems:

• Reviewing and approving signalling system designs, technical submittals, and interface documentation to ensure compliance with contract requirements, safety standards, and employer specifications.
• Overseeing the integration of signalling systems with rolling stock, telecommunications, platform screen doors, traction power systems, and operational control centers (OCC/TCC).
• Providing technical leadership during signalling testing and commissioning phases, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), integration testing, dynamic testing, and trial running.
• Monitoring signalling system performance against RAMS targets, operational requirements (*, headways, speed profiles), and safety criteria.
• Participating in inspections, audits, Non-Conformance Report (NCR) reviews, and quality assurance processes for signalling system installation, configuration, and operation.
• Assessing signalling-related risks, failure modes, and interface challenges, and ensuring appropriate mitigation measures are implemented and tracked.
• Coordinating with Project Management Consultancy (PMCM) teams, contractor signalling teams, system suppliers, the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Entity, and employer representatives to resolve technical issues and ensure system readiness.
• Preparing signalling system reports, integration assessments, performance analyses, and compliance documentation for employer review and PMCM reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 15 years of relevant signalling experience.
• Extensive experience with railway signalling systems, including Automatic Train Control (ATC)/Automatic Train Operation (ATO), Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC), interlocking systems, train detection, and signalling system integration.
• A strong understanding of interfaces between signalling systems and rolling stock, telecommunications, platform screen doors (PSDs), traction power, SCADA, and OCC/TCC operations.
• Proven ability to review and validate technical documentation, including signalling designs, interface control documents, test procedures, NCRs, and commissioning reports.
• Familiarity with RAMS frameworks, SIL classifications, and safety standards such as EN 50126 / EN 50129 for signalling systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills for effective collaboration within multi-disciplinary teams and engagement with contractors and stakeholders.
• A high level of professional integrity, technical rigor, and adaptability, particularly for complex system integration within large-scale metro projects.
