About Mace and the Role

Mace, a company that combines construction expertise with consultancy, is seeking an Expert Sports Architect to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time role focuses on strategic project management consultancy for significant sports infrastructure developments. The position requires a professional who can integrate design and construction knowledge to deliver high-quality sports facilities.

The Project Context

Mace provides strategic project management consultancy for major new build stadiums, multiple stadium redevelopments, and wider precinct transformations across Riyadh. The scope of work involves delivering new stadiums, increasing existing stadia capacity, developing major mixed-use amenities, and implementing robust knowledge-transfer programs to ensure operational excellence and long-term sustainability beyond construction.

Key Responsibilities

The Expert Sports Architect will be responsible for:

• Developing and designing sports facilities specifically for football, including stadiums, training centres, and other related structures in relation to other sport grounds.
• Collaborating with clients, stakeholders, and other professionals to ensure projects meet the needs of athletes, spectators, and the community.
• Ensuring compliance against international codes and standards, as well as specific sporting standards including FIFA compliance.
• Overseeing the construction process to ensure facilities are constructed according to design, on schedule, and within budget.
• Collaborating with other professionals, such as engineers and contractors, to ensure smooth project execution.
• Communicating with clients and stakeholders throughout the project to ensure their needs and expectations are met.
• Reviewing overall design status with the design management team and recommending corrective action where necessary.
• Demonstrating a logical approach to mitigate complex design issues and communicating solutions within the team and to design consultants.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should possess the following:

• A degree in architecture with extensive years of experience.
• Extensive sports architecture and stadium delivery experience, including FIFA-compliant design and multidisciplinary coordination.
