About the Role

W Hotels in Riyadh is seeking a full-time Life Guard to ensure the safety and enjoyment of guests. This role requires an individual with 0-1 years of experience, possessing essential certifications to perform duties effectively.

Key Responsibilities

The Life Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe swimming environment. This includes:

• Observing swimmers and utilizing appropriate rescue techniques when assistance is needed.
• Monitoring the swimming area for dangerous conditions, unusual activities, and swimmers in distress.
• Promoting adherence to the recreation facility's rules and regulations.
• Identifying situations where guests may not be able to participate safely and informing the supervisor or manager.
• Providing assistance to injured guests until emergency medical services arrive.
• Contributing to a positive and relaxing atmosphere for guests.
• Obtaining, folding, and stacking towels according to company procedures.
• Washing, mopping, and cleaning the pool deck.

Safety and Compliance

Adherence to safety protocols and company policies is paramount. This involves:

• Reporting all accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management.
• Completing required safety training and maintaining certifications.
• Following all company policies and procedures, maintaining confidentiality, and protecting company assets.
• Complying with quality assurance expectations and standards.

Guest Service and Teamwork

Providing excellent guest service and fostering a supportive team environment are key aspects of this role:

• Welcoming and acknowledging all guests according to company standards.
• Ensuring a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
• Anticipating and addressing guests' service needs.
• Assisting individuals with disabilities and thanking guests with genuine appreciation.
• Communicating with others using clear and professional language.
• Supporting all co-workers with dignity and respect.

Physical Requirements

The role requires the ability to perform various physical tasks:

• Visually inspecting tools, equipment, or machines for defects.
• Moving at a speed required to respond to work situations, including running and walking.
• Standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods or entire work shifts.
• Moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance, and objects weighing over 75 pounds with assistance.
• Grasping, turning, and manipulating objects of varying size and weight with fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Navigating sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, as well as ladders, stairs, and service ramps.
• Reaching overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

Qualifications and Certifications

Candidates must meet the following educational and certification requirements:

• High school diploma or *** equivalent.
• No related work experience is required.
• No supervisory experience is required.
• CPR Certification.
• First Aid Certification.
• Fitness Equipment certification (if applicable).
• Any other certification or training required by local and state agencies.
