About the Planning Specialist Role

Al Majed Oud is seeking a Planning Specialist to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves supporting the efficiency and continuity of supply chain operations through detailed planning and analysis. The role requires a proactive approach to balancing supply and demand, optimizing inventory, and ensuring the timely availability of materials and products while managing costs and service levels.

Core Responsibilities

The Planning Specialist will be responsible for a range of critical supply chain functions. This includes developing, implementing, and monitoring supply, production, and distribution plans aligned with business needs. A key aspect of the role involves analyzing demand patterns, sales forecasts, and historical data to provide accurate planning recommendations. The specialist will also monitor inventory levels, suggesting actions to maintain optimal stock while minimizing excess and stockouts. Coordination with various departments such as Procurement, Production, Warehousing, Logistics, and Sales is essential for seamless operations.

  • Preparing planning reports, analyzing performance gaps, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Tracking and reporting on key Supply Chain Performance Indicators (KPIs), including forecast accuracy, inventory turnover, material availability, and service levels.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement to enhance operational efficiency and overall supply chain performance.
  • Supporting cost optimization initiatives while upholding service quality and operational continuity.
  • Utilizing ERP systems and planning tools for planning activities and data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, and supply chain best practices.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management. Professional certifications such as APICS CPIM or APICS CSCP, or equivalent, are preferred. The position requires 1 to 5 years of experience in supply chain planning, demand planning, material planning, production planning, or logistics planning. Experience working with ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics is considered an advantage.

Essential Skills for Success

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving capabilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and business intelligence/reporting tools is necessary. A solid understanding of supply chain planning principles, demand forecasting, inventory management, procurement, and logistics is expected. The ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and develop actionable recommendations is crucial. Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills are vital for this role. Strong organizational skills are required to manage multiple priorities effectively. Fluency in Arabic is required, with proficiency in English being preferred.
