About the PMO Manager Role
Alfanar is seeking a PMO Manager to oversee its project portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and the delivery of business value. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, within the Riyadh Region. The role requires 5-10 years of experience. The salary is not disclosed.
Portfolio Management and Strategic Alignment
The PMO Manager will oversee the project portfolio and its performance, ensuring that all projects align with organizational strategy and objectives. Key responsibilities include monitoring portfolio benefits realization, supporting value delivery, and contributing to project prioritization and sequencing decisions.
PMO Governance and Oversight
This role involves establishing and maintaining PMO policies, frameworks, and standards to ensure consistent application of project management methodologies. The PMO Manager will monitor compliance with governance requirements and drive continuous improvement of PMO processes and tools. Portfolio oversight includes monitoring project health, progress, and performance across the portfolio, reviewing project risks, issues, and dependencies, and overseeing portfolio-level change control processes. Guidance and support will be provided to project managers.
Reporting and Executive Support
The PMO Manager will consolidate portfolio reports and dashboards, providing management with project performance insights and recommendations. This includes supporting governance boards and steering committees, and facilitating portfolio review meetings and decision-making processes.
Resource, Quality, and Vendor Management
Responsibilities extend to monitoring resource allocation and capacity across projects, conducting project reviews, and performing quality assurance activities. The role also involves supporting project initiation, business cases, and scope development, as well as participating in vendor evaluation, selection, and performance oversight.
Leadership and Business Acumen
The PMO Manager will demonstrate proficiency in HR practices, including recruiting, developing, and managing high performers, as well as addressing underperformance. Full responsibility for operations and deliverables is expected, along with the ability to anticipate problems and make timely, proper decisions. This includes transforming corporate goals into actionable business plans, monitoring performance, initiating corrective actions, and controlling budgets and expenses for cost efficiency. Developing organizational structure, ensuring job descriptions are available, and promoting business process improvements through well-defined systems, policies, and procedures, including automation opportunities, are also key aspects of the role. Adaptation to new techniques, technologies, and business models, while upholding Alfanar's commitment to quality and ensuring a safe, secure, and legal work environment, are essential.
