About the Role

Le Meridien is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee daily restaurant operations in Riyadh. This full-time position requires a professional dedicated to contributing to guest and employee satisfaction through effective leadership and operational management.

Key Responsibilities

The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for the comprehensive management of daily restaurant operations. This includes supervising and managing employees across all positions, ensuring adherence to service and sanitation standards in restaurant, bar/lounge, and room service areas. The role involves reviewing staffing levels to meet service, operational, and financial objectives, and actively assisting servers and hosts during peak meal periods.

Leadership and Team Development

This position requires strong leadership to influence and encourage team members, advocating for sound financial decisions and demonstrating integrity. The manager will foster mutual trust, respect, and cooperation, serving as a role model and identifying developmental needs of others through coaching and mentorship. Developing specific goals and plans to organize and accomplish work, while ensuring employee productivity and compliance with all food & beverage policies, standards, and procedures, are critical aspects of this role. Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including food handling, sanitation, and liquor laws, is also a key responsibility.

Guest Experience Management

A primary focus will be on delivering exceptional customer service that exceeds guest expectations. This involves improving service by understanding guest needs, providing guidance, and coaching employees. The manager will oversee daily operations to ensure quality standards and meet customer expectations, acting as a role model for guest hospitality. Handling guest problems and complaints effectively, soliciting feedback on food and beverage quality, and implementing corrective actions for continuous service improvement are essential. The role also includes managing service delivery to ensure an excellent guest experience from arrival to departure.

Human Resources and Operations Oversight

The Restaurant Manager will provide guidance and direction to subordinates, setting performance standards and monitoring progress. Identifying training needs, developing programs, and instructing employees are key HR functions. Ensuring fair and equitable treatment of employees, striving to improve retention, and soliciting employee feedback through an open-door policy are also important. The role includes overseeing the financial aspects of the department, such as purchasing and invoice payments, and supervising daily shift operations in the absence of the Assistant Restaurant Manager.

Qualifications and Requirements

Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in restaurant management. The ability to analyze information, evaluate results, and solve problems is required. A strong understanding of food handling and sanitation standards, as well as local liquor laws, is essential.
