About the Role

The Green Recruitment Company is seeking a Senior Testing & Commissioning Manager with a specialization in STATCOM systems. This full-time position is based in Riyadh and requires over 10 years of experience. The role focuses on leading the commissioning and grid integration of STATCOM systems for renewable energy plants and substations, ensuring reliable operation under complex grid conditions and adherence to utility acceptance criteria, power quality standards, and grid stability requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Review STATCOM system designs, control philosophies, protection settings, and cooling systems.
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and control validation activities.
• Lead the pre-commissioning and energization of converter systems and auxiliary equipment.
• Validate voltage control, reactive power control, and power factor operating modes.
• Conduct dynamic reactive response, voltage recovery, and harmonic performance testing.
• Coordinate acceptance testing with utilities and grid operators.
• Troubleshoot converter trips, control instability, cooling failures, and communication issues.
• Prepare commissioning reports and support Operations & Maintenance (O&M) handover.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Power Engineering is required.
• A minimum of 12 years of commissioning experience with STATCOM or FACTS devices.
• A deep understanding of power electronics and reactive power compensation.
• Proven experience with dynamic grid testing and power quality studies.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills are essential.
• Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) commissioning experience is highly desirable.
