About the Role

Norconsult Telematics is seeking a Senior ELV BIM Design Engineer for a contract position in Riyadh. This role is integral to the design, development, and coordination of Electrical, Electronic, and Low Voltage (ELV) systems within building and telecom projects, utilizing a BIM-based design environment.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior ELV BIM Design Engineer will be responsible for a range of technical duties, including:

• Developing detailed designs for Power, Electrical, LV, and DC-plant Systems.
• Ensuring designs comply with local codes, international standards, and project specifications.
• Creating and managing ELV models using BIM platforms, such as Revit.
• Coordinating ELV systems within federated BIM models, integrating with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
• Performing clash detection and resolving conflicts with other project disciplines.
• Maintaining model accuracy, consistency, and adherence to Level of Development (LOD) requirements.
• Preparing detailed drawings, schematics, and layouts derived from BIM models.
• Ensuring compliance with standards including SBC, NFPA, ASHRAE, IEC, and relevant local regulations.
• Adhering to BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and project-specific BIM standards.
• Providing technical support during the implementation phase.
• Supporting the update of as-built models and the preparation of handover documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess the following qualifications:

• A BSc in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Between 5 to 10 years of relevant experience, with a strong understanding of Telecommunications Industry standards, including IEEE.
• Proven experience in coordinated BIM projects is mandatory.
• A solid knowledge base in Electrical Design, LV Design, Power, and DC Systems Design.
• Advanced proficiency in REVIT, Navisworks, and CAD is mandatory.
• Understanding of LODs ranging from 200 to 500.
• Strong coordination capabilities.
• The ability to proactively resolve design clashes.
• Capacity to work effectively in fast-paced design environments.
• Required: Autodesk Revit / BIM professional certifications.
• Required: Autodesk Navisworks training certification.
• Awareness of LEED or sustainability principles would be considered an advantage.

This is a contract position based in Riyadh. The role involves close collaboration with various engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of ELV systems within complex building and telecom projects. The work environment is dynamic and requires efficient project execution.
