Ninja 🥷🏽 نينجا is seeking a Senior LLM / AI Engineer to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position is foundational to building and scaling our AI capabilities, focusing on the design, development, and deployment of production-ready agentic AI systems that deliver tangible business impact. The role requires 5-10 years of relevant experience and is suited for a hands-on engineer dedicated to shipping functional production systems.

Core Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy agentic AI systems ready for production environments.
• Contribute to customer care automation initiatives.
• Build and optimize knowledge management pipelines.
• Develop intelligent targeting and decision-making engines.
• Ensure the scalability, reliability, and high performance of all AI solutions.
• Focus on delivering production systems rather than experimental prototypes.

Required Technical Expertise

• Programming: Strong proficiency in Python (*** with production experience in FastAPI services.
• Agentic Workflow Design: Proven experience designing or building multi-step agentic workflows, including understanding the tradeoffs between deterministic state machines/graphs and open-ended ReAct-style agents.
• LLM Integration: Direct experience building against Anthropic and/or OpenAI SDKs in production.
• Data Layer: Comfortable with PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy (async), Alembic migrations, pgvector, and Redis for session/state management.
• Retrieval Judgment: Understanding of when structured/keyed database lookups are more effective than vector search, and practical experience implementing RAG appropriately.
• Production Discipline: Demonstrated ability to ship systems with real guardrails, including cost controls, latency budgets, escalation/fallback paths, and evaluation loops.
• Prompt Engineering & Evals: Practical experience writing, testing, and iterating on prompts, including building or utilizing evaluation frameworks to catch regressions.
• Observability: Familiarity with LLM observability tools such as Langfuse, LangSmith, Helicone, or equivalents.

Essential Qualifications and Professional Attributes

• Hands-on Builder: Genuine hands-on experience in building and coding, not solely in architecture or management. Ability to walk through personally written code, including decisions and challenges.
• Public GitHub: A public GitHub profile showcasing real, browsable work, including personal projects, open-source contributions, or relevant code samples.
• Ownership & Proactivity: Ability to identify problems and drive solutions independently with minimal oversight, characteristic of a founding role.
• Adaptability: Comfortable working without heavy abstraction layers.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience with LangGraph.
• Exposure to MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers or similar tool-exposure patterns for AI assistants.
• Multilingual experience, particularly with Arabic or other non-English LLM applications, including dialect handling and multilingual evaluations.

Work Location

This full-time position is based in Riyadh. Candidates must either be currently located in Riyadh or willing to work in a hybrid model with regular in-person presence in the city.
