About the Role

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a Senior Verification and Validation Lead Engineer for a contract position based in Riyadh. This role reports to the Chief Engineer and the Head of Engineering, focusing on the system verification and validation of a large security system throughout its deployment and acceptance process with the customer.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will lead test campaigns for customer acceptance events and be responsible for the preparation and review of test documentation, including test procedures and problem reports. This role involves performing system-level verification and validation activities for system and customer releases, as well as dedicated test campaigns such as load, stress, and performance tests. Utilizing tools like DOORS, Jira, and Quality Center, the engineer will manage problem reporting, track bugs, and retest fixed issues in close collaboration with development teams.

Leadership and Team Development

This position requires experience in leading a team of V&V Engineers and acting as a Domain Lead to align and plan tasks with other technical teams. The role involves actively participating in verification within development teams, driving the verification and release of software updates, and educating other V&V engineers to enhance domain knowledge. The ideal candidate will be self-sustained, a team player, and a capable team lead.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. A minimum of 10 years of experience in the Verification and Validation (V&V) of systems is required. Familiarity with INCOSE and international system engineering standards, or holding an ISTQB Certification, is essential. The role also requires experience in writing test procedures and reports, detailed work planning, and the ability to work effectively in a customer-oriented environment within the cultural context of Saudi Arabia.

Required Skills and Attributes

Strong analytical thinking and an engineering mindset are crucial. The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines is necessary, alongside excellent listening skills to understand customer requirements. A strong service orientation and focus on on-time delivery, along with sensitivity to cost, quality, and time, are important. The candidate should be a cooperative team player, solution-oriented, and flexible, with a willingness to travel to remote sensor sites. Fluency in written and spoken English is essential, with communication in Arabic being desirable.

Work Context

This is a contract position based in Riyadh. Frequent travel to various locations within Saudi Arabia is expected, with occasional international travel also required. Candidates must demonstrate awareness of potential compliance risks and a commitment to acting with integrity.
