About the Role

Nextpower is seeking a dedicated Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires a professional with 5-10 years of experience in supplier quality management to ensure the highest standards of product and process quality from our suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for a range of critical quality assurance activities. This includes conducting thorough supplier qualification audits for new vendors according to established processes. You will also manage the generation of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) requests in coordination with the New Product Introduction (NPI) team.

  • Performing PPAP audits at supplier sites, reviewing entire processes, identifying non-conformities, and collaborating with suppliers to implement corrective actions.
  • Collecting and evaluating all quality documentation from suppliers against reference standards, ensuring timely submission to customers.
  • Conducting periodic process audits at supplier facilities and resolving all identified non-conformities.
  • Issuing Material Dispatch Clearance Certificates (MDCC) after verifying shipment data and maintaining records of all documentation.
  • Investigating critical quality issues at supplier sites, gathering data for root cause analysis, and defining corrective and preventive actions.
  • Facilitating Non-Conformance Report (NCR) analysis with suppliers using the 8D methodology.
  • Training supplier teams on various quality tools and methodologies.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of part and site performance indicators by identifying quality issues and waste reduction opportunities.
  • Exploring and implementing new ideas for the automation of documentation and internal processes.
  • Applying Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements and enhance product quality.
  • Participating in the sustainable engineering team to evaluate new requirements by collecting data from Voice of Customer (VOC) and market best practices.
  • Supporting the Quality Manager in monitoring and reporting on supplier product quality and performance.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. A total of 6-8 years of experience in supplier Quality Management is required. Certification as a Six Sigma Green Belt is essential. Proficiency in quality tools such as 8D, 5 Why, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Pareto analysis, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) processes is mandatory. Candidates must also hold an internal auditor certification for QMS, IATF, or VDA.

  • In-depth working knowledge of the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and supplier qualification processes.
  • Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes.
  • Good knowledge of data analytics and presentation skills, with experience using tools like Power BI and Minitab.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize activities effectively based on situational demands.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt new knowledge for process improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Good command of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time to suppliers, project sites, and customer locations.
