The Role of Assistant Consultant, Medical Oncology

KFSH is seeking a dedicated Assistant Consultant, Medical Oncology to join its full-time medical staff in Medina. This role involves assisting in the provision of comprehensive medical care within the Medical Oncology department and supervising interns and residents. The Assistant Consultant operates in strict adherence to current medical staff bylaws, rules, regulations, and the Hospital’s established policies and procedures.

Core Clinical Responsibilities

• Assist the Consultant in providing patient care and management in Medical Oncology, aligning with the Hospital’s medical care standards.
• Deliver high-quality patient care across all aspects of Medical Oncology, consistent with approved clinical privileges.
• Provide inpatient and emergency room consultations upon request, ensuring timely responses as per Hospital policy.
• Ensure the timely completion, accuracy, and legibility of medical records.
• Provide on-call service, maintaining availability and response times in accordance with Hospital policy.
• Conduct daily morning rounds to identify patients ready for discharge and ensure discharge orders are written 24 hours prior.
• Perform other assigned clinical responsibilities related to the Medical Oncology specialty.

Professional Development and Education

• Provide orientation, bedside training, and supervision to interns, residents, and fellows as assigned.
• Actively participate in the department’s educational activities and training programs.
• Engage in national and international medical conferences to stay abreast of advancements.
• Maintain and enhance professional knowledge and fulfill continuing education requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this full-time position should possess a strong background in Medical Oncology. The role requires 2-5 years of relevant experience in the field. Applicants must hold appropriate medical qualifications and clinical privileges, demonstrating adherence to professional standards and hospital regulations.
