About the Role

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Director of Food & Beverage to lead the strategic direction and operational execution of its food and beverage and culinary operations in Medina, Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah. This full-time position requires a seasoned professional with 5-10 years of relevant experience to drive departmental success and enhance guest satisfaction.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

As the strategic business leader for food and beverage and culinary operations, including restaurants, bars, room service, and banquets where applicable, this role is responsible for developing and implementing departmental strategies. The focus is on aligning with brand service strategies and initiatives, ensuring the operation meets target customer needs, fosters employee satisfaction, and maximizes financial performance through revenue growth and profitability. This includes developing and implementing property-wide strategies that deliver products and services exceeding customer and employee expectations, while ensuring a return on investment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting expectations and holding the food and beverage leadership team accountable for service behaviors.
  • Reviewing financial reports to assess performance against budget and making recommendations for capital expenditures.
  • Developing and managing the Food and Beverage budget, monitoring sales to ensure revenue goals are met or exceeded.
  • Ensuring cash and liquor control policies are implemented and followed.
  • Leading the food and beverage team by utilizing interpersonal and communication skills to influence and encourage others, and serving as a role model.
  • Identifying opportunities to increase profits and create value through innovation and necessary change.
  • Ensuring regular communication occurs across all food and beverage areas.
  • Developing and executing a food and beverage operating strategy aligned with the brand's business strategy.
  • Providing exceptional customer service by exceeding guest expectations and empowering employees to deliver excellent service.
  • Reviewing guest feedback and implementing corrective actions to improve service performance.
  • Managing and conducting human resource activities, including setting performance standards, coaching leadership, and ensuring fair employee treatment.
  • Informing stakeholders on relevant information in a timely manner and analyzing information to solve problems.
  • Estimating consumption of food, liquor, and beverages for purchasing and requisitioning.
  • Ordering and purchasing equipment and supplies.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must possess one of the following:

  • A high school diploma or GED with 6 years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, event management, or a related professional area.
  • A 2-year degree from an accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major, with 4 years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, event management, or a related professional area.

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Customer and Personal Service: Understanding principles and processes for providing customer service, including needs assessment, quality standards, and satisfaction evaluation.
  • Management of Financial Resources: Ability to determine and account for expenditures to achieve work objectives.
  • Administration and Management: Knowledge of business and management principles including strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources, leadership, production methods, and coordination.
  • Applied Business Knowledge: Understanding market dynamics, enterprise objectives, and company business aspects to diagnose strengths/weaknesses, identify opportunities/risks, and develop strategies.
  • Management of Material Resources: Proficiency in obtaining and appropriately using equipment, facilities, and materials.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Medina, Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah, Saudi Arabia, within Sheraton Hotels & Resorts.
